[SOLVED] Good quality & quiet 8-10TB HDD for steam library

What's a good manufacturer and model for a gaming HDD? I'm planning on buying a friend a 8-10TB 7200 RPM HDD, to pair w/ Intel optane cache, on a coffee lake refresh system.

Why put gamers on a spinning drive? Games should be on an ssd. Get a 1tb ssd for the games that need speed. Older or other games can go on a spinner. I'd avoid optane entirely.

I use 8 & 10tb drives I shucked from WD D50 external drives and they are pretty quiet for 7200rpm drives. You'll want to pick up a power extension cable, you'll need to cut the orange wire in them if they have it. Newer drives use the 3.3v line as a reset now and having it always on will have your drive in a perpetual reset state.
