[citation][nom]hemelskonijn[/nom]Google should be more careful as to what they suggest of course its merely a suggestion but we all know that that they made the suggestion style search to help us find what we are looking for. In this case the man has not exhausted all appeals and by law is not guilty till he has (which is to make sure one really is guilty before one is judged like that by its peers). If we would use google to look up whether this guys i guilty or not it suggest he is.The guy not only got 1 euro but he also claimed for 1 euro this was a case to clear his name not for money if he had wished to he could have claimed a lot more damages. Obviously one could make the conclusion he only claimed 1 euro to show his best side (not being greedy and just wanting justice). In any way i really wonder what would happen if any of those loud mouths Americans above googled there name and got suggestions they think are not just.Google should drop suggestions in protection of our privacy! not to censure the result of a query.[/citation]

Well, being a loud mouthed american I have already told this comment board what I found and it wasn't that far off from this man.

A man with my last name, which basically means he is my blood relation somehow, was caught with child pornography that he made with children 12-15 in his desk at work.

I'm not suing, but this search defames my surname and my family as a whole. If this man wanted his name cleared the guess what? It would be after his appeals went through and he was found not guilty, assuming he is.

We americans know what it means to be thick skinned, something at least this frenchman could learn from.

[citation][nom]wawa sxm[/nom]wow amazing how americans can critize other countries when they are the worst...this was in france nobody suing for money (thats the american way)..and as much as i like google i do think they need to monitor that box....how would you like it if your kid start typing something and gets pornographic suggestions (totally irresponsible and short sighted on googles part)yuup and americans still suffering from illeteracy....thank god your goverment poors millions if not billions in recruiting top idiots from europe and asia...if you didnt get it your iq is amonsgt the lowest of develop countries and so is your life expectancy...[/citation]
I'm not going to directly respond because the person you quoted was out of line, but I will say that 99% of people who correct others' grammar on the internet tend to screw it up themselves.

It does present a problem, but when you think about it, freedom of the press extends to search engines. Anything along the lines you suggest would be considered censorship. I do think google could probably compromise and add an optional filter, but they may have already.
