1) They've once mentioned to have stats about hard drive manufacturers
2) I'm pretty sure they use cheapo SATAs
3) I'm pretty sure they pay much lower price, than what you could gat at walmart

Nope. They've stated somewhere to use cheap built-at-home servers. Probably entire box with memory and what not costs half of 700.
