Got a gaming PC, and no longer use my PS4 or CFW PS3

Hello, I have signed up today, to ask a few questions regarding my migration from PS4 to PC...
I was first considering to purchase parts in order to create my own custom gaming PC, however I stumbled upon a fantastic deal on eBay that had a very decent spec sheet, and it was all ready to be delivered pre-built! When this PC arrived, I had noticed it was a Gigabyte 78LMT-USB3 (REV 6.0), not the 5.0 as shown!
I've looked on the Gigabyte website for more information to compare the two, but I haven't figured out much. I assume that the 6.0 provides a higher standard audio, and a 16x PCI speed, instead of 2.0 10x speed for the GTX 970.

Just now, I've ordered the Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO for my PC, but I'm not quite sure it'll fit the case; however I have seen Amazon reviews that claim from a few people that it does, and a few others that claim it doesn't. I'm guessing it all depends on the size of your CPU, and I've known AMD CPU's to be slightly bulkier than the Intel brand.
The case is a Galaxy Evo tower, and it's a little small, but it's a great case, but measuring the case is out of the question.

I'm a little nervous on replacing the CPU cooler with the 212 evo, as it's the stock one, so it's wise not to overclock to 4.1GHz yet I'm currently overclocked to 3700MHz to be safe. I've got Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste, but no removal alcohol to take the old paste off, but I've heard rubbing the CPU with a tissue or a fine cloth really carefully will take off the paste, or even vodka, but it's a wise decision not to trust everything in the deepest darkest corners of the internet..

Will the MSI GTX 970 be better off having Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste applied too, or will that be alright to be left alone for a few more years? (I've only just got the PC).

I've also ordered another 250gb SSD, as people say SSHD's are still a disappointing storage alternative for games.

So far, I know that the PC is 5x better in terms of raw processing power, compared to the PS4, and I barely play it anymore. (Same goes for the CFW PS3). It's been sitting on my desk for days now; ever since I got the PC, and I'm not too bothered about the exclusives.. I should sell it, wouldn't anyone agree? I've also replaced the thermal paste in the PS4 with AS5 and put a 1TB SSHD in it, so it should go for more, and I could use the money for more Steam games, as I'm a little short on it as it is.

I forgot to mention that I'm using a 1080p 60fps 5ms TV, and text and a few other things can appear blurry quite often, so would it be wise to purchase a 1440p (PC) monitor when I get more cash?

Please can I have you feedback on all of this? I've kinda lost what I was getting at half way through, but I'd appreciate it if anyone could make sense of this. Thanks!

Ok my most important advice is DO NOT TOUCH YOUR VIDEOCARD until your warranty is done.
the thermal paste is fine for a year.

About overclocking i used to be a fan of it, but TBH there no point in doing it anymore, you wont get to many FPS gained to be worth the Stressing you'll do to your hardware.

In the old days overclocking was a must! because cpu's were very expensive and you could do really good overclock to some cpu's
Like the celeron that could be overclocked to pentium levels (this is an example)
Today you wont gain much (these are my 2c)
Some people do see gains in overclock and i respect their opinion.

About the text being blurry on your HDTV this is normal when using the HDMI connector.
Some tv's have a setting for the HDMI to be used as PC and this corrects the text, If your tv doesn't have this, you can use the scaling options on you gpu software and see if you get a cleaner look, Also there is a Microsoft tool to try and fix this.

Sell that PS4. PC gaming is far more fun, with more options, better games and upgrade capabilities. May I ask why are you getting an SSD to storage games? You don't have a HDD?. Games are starting to cover more than 50gb in storage space, which makes 250gb look like it is nothing. I personally have a 250gb SSD and the only thing I have in it is the OS and 2 games, I can't fit more. All my other games are in a 3TB WD black HDD, and it runs just fine. You will need an HDD sooner or later.

Also, start reading and learning about overclocking because you will need it for heavy processing games like GTAV or BF4. You have an AMD, not an intel processor, and to get the same performance that intel processors get, you WILL have to overclock. I have no clue what delukard is saying about overclocking. It is true for intel processors that exceed expectations in single core performance, but not for AMD which are generally known for having very bad single core performance and need to be overclocked for high end gaming. It depends what games you play of course.

Thanks for your feedback, I'll leave the video card alone! I'm most likely going to sell the PS4, and I'm also highly considering a 1440p 1ms (PC monitor), and using a Display Port connector this time around!

I have one other question, if you don't mind, but yesterday I was using MSI Afterburner, just to get an idea of the overclocking options for when I've installed the 212 Evo on my CPU, and I wanted to find out what 100% GPU fan speed sounded like, so I set it to 100 speed and left it there, after getting an idea of what it sounds like under stress, but I left it at 100 and clicked on auto speed afterwards, but then I ran a game and it stayed on 100, and I had no idea what it was. I thought it was the CPU fan, so I spent hours trying to figure out why it stayed at 100, even when I wasn't playing a game. It didn't do 100% fan speed when I was in the bios, but it did when I entered Windows.. I had no idea what it was. I spent around 2 days trying to figure out what it was, and when I found out what it was, (like a total idiot), I turned the GPU fan speed back to automatic and left it at regular speed.

My question is: Since my GTX 970 had been running at 100% speed for almost two days, does that mean I've shortened the lifespan of the fan on the GPU? How much would this have shortened the lifespan, if you have any idea? I'm a bit paranoid now, like a total noob. Thanks for your help!

The PSU isn't good. Change it.

When it comes to motherboards Gigabyte employs bait and switch tactics. Meaning newer versions are of lesser quality than older versions.

You will end spending a lot more by changing and upgrading components. You could have saved a lot of money if you built it yourself.
