[SOLVED] Got a little liquid in my computer, only turns on without cpu power

Accidentally dripped some condensation from a beer into the top of my case. Turned it off, waited 2 days. Tried to turn it on, only got a brief flash of the Cpu debug led on my MSI motherboard and nothing else. Tried again after unplugging power to the cpu, and everything else starts up, with the cpu light still showing. Is this an open and shut case of my cpu being fried from the water ? Should I wait and see if it dries out further ? There was no smoke or flashing when it got wet or the 3 other times I tried to turn it on.

I would suspect the MB being fried by the water before I would suspect the CPU.

So even though the cpu being plugged in makes everything not work, its probably because of a short in the motherboard ?

Did you see where the water went?
The reason I suspect the MB over the CPU is that MBs are relatively fragile and CPUs are pretty tough.
Any chance you can find another PC to test the CPU in? Or another CPU to test your MB?

My only recourse right now is buying new stuff and or hoping the old stuff dries out and doesnt mess the new stuff up, but I will look into doing that.. I didnt see where the liquid went exactly.

All depends where the water landed but unless it was on the cpu cooler and behind it I would think the motherboard was destroyed.

Its only a stock cooler and the cpu is right near the top of the case. It wont display anything with no cpu right ?
