After the first day i got my new stuff and put it together, my audio hasn't worked since. I haven't installed my motherboard (Gigabyte GA-B150M-DS3H) driver disk because i don't have an OD. I'm thinking this may be the problem, but i wasn't sure enough to spend 20$ and the problem not be solved. I did the common solutions people have such as: Having windows search for new driver, Uninstalling drivers and reinstalling, and checking inside my case. If you guys have anything that i could try please let me know!

Solution

It's not my drivers, every time i see solutions online my computer seems to be missing things that would fix it. A big one i found missing is something called mmcss.dll

C:\WINDOWS\system32>sfc /scannow

Beginning system scan. This process will take some time.

Beginning verification phase of system scan.
Verification 100% complete.

Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>

Alright our last stop is event viewer, click on the magnifying glass, type in event viewer, hit enter once its brought up.
Look at the windows log folder, click it, then click on system, go back to the date where you crashed.
There might be a few red x's, click on it, then click on the details tab, if you're lucky it'll spit out the bsod error code along with the error message.

If i get windows and a new hard drive do you think i could get my sound back?

If your going to use the same drivers like last time, I don't think so.
Uninstall the sound card drivers from control panel add/remove programs.
Reboot the machine once, once windows boots up, the generic drivers should be enabled.
Follow the link I gave you for realtek hd audio, install them and do one more reboot for the changes to take place.
This time it should work, make sure the volume levels are normal like 45% for a 3 piece stereo system or 5 in 1 home theater speaker sets.

What do you mean? i didn't buy a sound card

I did buy a wireless network thing that goes into my mother board under my graphics card and took it out and my audio hasnt worked after that. thats why i think i should buy a new motherboard

TP-Link Wireless N300 PCI Express Adapter, 2.4GHz 300Mbps, Includes Low-profile Bracket (TL-WN881ND)

So what now?

What do you mean "If you get Windows", what are you using now? Start at the beginning here. You said "I got my new stuff and put it together", what is this "new stuff"? Is this a full new build? Did you replace parts? Did you install Windows clean and get all the drivers installed? Not from the Windows search for new drivers, directly from the vendor support site for the parts.

Okay I got everything on 9/14 and Kept my old hard drive which originally had windows 8.1 and i got windows 10 free when they offered it which for me was somewhere in june-july. I got everything brand new from my monitor to my hardware for a pc. Specs are: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/GWm6NN
I don't know what my hard drive is from my old pc but it's 1 tb so i put western digital in the list for reference i guess. My PC keeps telling me to activate windows. It says specifically "We can't activate windows on this device because you don't have a valid digital license or product key. Go to the Store to buy genuine windows. Error Code: 0x803F7001" Do you think might be my problem to not having sound? (Edit: I forgot to mention when i click my sound with red x it troubleshoots and says "Audio Services Not Responding"

Click on magnifying glass, type in device manager, hit enter, look for sound, video, game controllers tab.
Left click it to expand the tree list it will look similiar to this:

It's not my drivers i already said that, i have no yellow signs next my drivers.

If you had an OEM version of Windows you need to buy a new license for the new setup but Microsoft can often activate the license for you if you call them and tell them you had to replace the motherboard.

You did not really explain what you did, start at the beginning. You had an existing system? What exactly did you replace? If the motherboard, you need to install Windows clean on the new setup and install the drivers again. If your Windows was an OEM copy that license is only for the original build, but you may get some leniency and be able to re-use that key.

Solution

Yes i had an existing system i got from best buy, they installed windows there and didnt give me the product key when i got it. So since i don't have the key do I have to buy windows again and reinstall it? and if i reinstall will i lose anything thats on my hard drive?

Yes you will need a new key for your system and yes you will have to re-install everything that you had installed before. If you want to make sure you don't lose any files, get a new hard drive and install Windows clean on that. The Windows license you got was only for the system you bought, once you swapped all the parts you got a new system and the OEM key no longer is valid.
