Question 1)
I'm looking to buy a GT 640 2GB DDR3 or a HD 6770 2GB card for gaming in the summer. I've heard since these are entry level cards and do not require any strong PSU or a 6 pin connector. Will either of these cards work on a 350W Legend PSU coupled with the other specs i have as you can see below tab.
Question 2)
Will either of these cards couple with the rest of my PC as you can see. Will they be enough to run games at medium-highish at 720p without any anti-aliasing?

My PC:

Monitor: View Sonic 17 Inch
CPU: Intel Core i3 3220
Motherboard: Gigabyte H61M-DS2
Memory: 4 GB DDR-3 Corsair Value Select
HDD: 160 GB
PSU: Legend 350W

the GTX 640 is equivalent to AMD 6670 on performance, but draws less power than the 6770, 640 doesnt require a 6 pin PCIe connector whereas the 6770 needs one 6 pin as its power draw on load is 108W, it will be more if you oc it, so if you cant upgrade your PSU, the 640 will be fine, but if you can get a better PSU, the 6770 will be the better performer

the first concern is the PSU. 350w is not recommended even if you were using a good brand like Seasonic or XFX. You run the risk of not having enough power which could lead to frying additional components. save up a while longer so you can replace the PSU. A Corsair 430W is a decent budget PSU that will handle your needs (ideally you want to bump it up to about 500W).

the GPU's you mentioned will handle some light gaming, but this is another area i would save up to get at least an HD 7770.

you just need a little more kick for what you are trying to achieve.

I would really recommend you to look for a Radeon 7770 card, it performs much better than the other ones you mentioned and it required less power. Either way you go, your PSU isn't enough, you would probably want a 450W+ for optimal performance. If you still want to choose one of those 2 cards, go with the HD6770 but still i say 7770 or even 7750, cost about the same but are much better.

Yeah i know, well (sigh) if i run into some more money in a but than i'll get a 7750, if not then a gt 640 probably... 🙁
Thanx anyway though 😀

The 7750 cost about the same, 7770 will be much better, around $100-110. You should really consider that one

I'm not buying till June, so I'll take all this into the equation when buying.
