[SOLVED] GPU all of a sudden can't handle previous clocks

Hi all.

So recently I started up 3D Mark after getting a new CPU cooler and overclocking my CPU only to find out that all of a sudden, my GPU can't handle the clocks that it could before. 3D Mark would just crash at the 2nd Graphics Test straight away. I have no idea why this is happening and even after decreasing the clock SIGNIFICANTLY it still manages to have the occasional crash ONLY in 3D Mark. I have attempted to reinstall but it does not fix it.

Did you try lowering the CPU overclock back to what it previously was?

I lowered it back to stock and it's fine but I just can't seem to figure out why it can't handle the previous overclock that I had. I used an electric meter to see the power draw of the PC under both CPU and GPU at 100% load, and it was 420 watts, so the PSU isn't a problem.

Maybe the CPU was bottlenecking the overclocked GPU just enough that it didn't overheat until you overclocked the CPU. Have to be pretty much on the razor's edge for that, but I suppose possible.

I'm gonna do a quick stress test to see the temps of the GPU with a very light overclock that it can handle while the CPU is also at full load.

Maybe the CPU was bottlenecking the overclocked GPU just enough that it didn't overheat until you overclocked the CPU. Have to be pretty much on the razor's edge for that, but I suppose possible.
Just used OCCT for power test and GPU stayed around 60 degrees celsius and the CPU stayed around 83 max. I know the GPU temps are fine but the CPU seems to be pushing it a bit close to unsafe temps, however, OCCT power test is a 'worst-case' scenario.
