GPU and PCI-E splitters

I have a R9 270X and a 600W power supply with 6-pin PCI-E cables with splitters that read 'SLI ready'. My card needs two 6-pin connectors. Can I use this cable + splitter to power a single card, or should I use two separate PCI-E connectors?
