GPU Applications

Are there any personally gpu based applications out there that might be fun? I don't have much experience programming, and I'm not crazy about the boinc/folding@home supercomputing because I don't like running 24/7. I was just wondering if there are any home programs aside from games that make use of a gpu.

I use Badaboom to transcode video to iphone, it uses modern Nvidia cards to accelerate the encode times.
