Question GPU close to M.2?

Hello,

I have a gigabyte motherboard where the 2nd M.2 slot is next to the GPU (4060Ti). I have the WDSN850X with heatsink installed into the slot. The GPU JUST barely fits over it, like you could fit a sheet of paper in between but not much else. Is this something I should be concerned about? Should I buy the version of the drive without a heatsink instead? The board has two m.2 slots and I want to occupy both. Thank you.

2 SSD and GPU can overheat if your M. 2 slot is PCIE 4, too near the GPU. you may mitigate this warmness threat by means of including a heatsink to your M. 2 SSD, moving your ssd aside, or add aftermarket fan for extra cooling.

Thank you for your reply. The SN850X SSD has a small heatsink preinstalled. What additional fan would you recommend? The case has three fan in the front panel and one in the rear already.

They are all like that. Boards always have the M.2 slots close to the GPU. The SN850X is a PCIe gen 4 drive so I wouldn't recommend running it without a heatsink no matter how close it is to the GPU. Just try it with the default heatsink and monitor the temperature with HWInfo or HWMonitor. If it doesn't go much above 60c you are fine. If it goes hotter you could buy a better heatsink.
