Hi all.

Something pretty disappointing has happened. While using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014 today, I noticed this strange buzzing sound coming from my computer. I believe it is coil whine from the GPU as it does not occur when the computer is idling or in fact when I play Borderlands 2 or Minecraft. It only seems to occur when I am moving around video elements onscreen in Premiere, as the noise corresponds with my mouse movements. The card is an Asus Nvidia GeForce GTX 760 2GB.
So my actual questions are:
1. Is this is from the GPU not PSU
2. Should I lodge a warranty claim
3. Is this a major issue as it only (to my knowledge) occurs in one application
I urgently need help as the warranty of the card lapses in around 4 weeks. Here is a link to the sound of the card: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5TzsMVh9nOg

It can come from your psu but the gpu can coil whine as well. You can test this by opening your case and actually putting your ear near each component.
Usually this is noise is created when a high amount of frames is going through the card or the card has a tendency to make this noise.

Yes you can replace the card on warranty, but that does not mean the next one won't have it as well. Coil whine does not do any damage to your card it can just be very annoying so it's up to personal preference. Most likely Premier is using a high amount of frame output or input in your card.

-good luck

Thanks for the help, I'll make sure that it is definitely the GPU and then i will send it to Asus, as even if it isn't doing damage the card shouldn't have coil whine full stop. I am disappointed with Asus for making such a poor product, I haven't even had the card for 12 months!
