Okay, so it comes down to this:

Radeon R9 390X vs. GeForce 980/980Ti

And after THAT:

If Radeon-
Gigabyte Radeon R9 390X 8GB SOC vs. Sapphire Radeon R9 390X 8GB Tri-X vs. XFX Radeon R9 390X 8GB Double Dissipation

If GeForce:
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 980 4GB WINDFORCE 3X vs. EVGA GeForce GTX 980 4GB ACX 2.0 vs. Zotac GeForce GTX 980 4GB AMP! Edition

I don't need an answer right away, I'm just curious.

None. The current 390x are just rebranded GDDR5 290x with better clocks. 2nd generation 390x will use the new memory design, same as the fury, but have double the ram. Until that vram is released, with full aftermarket testing results and partner cards, spending that much cash on last year's tech doesn't make much sense.

Oh, and next year, nvidia will also have HBM memory access, kinda will make the current 980ti the same as a Broadwell Cpu, a temporary stopgap.
I would go with geforce cards..they are faaaar more power efficient..they are more expensive initially..but with amd cards you are gonna pay the money u saved as electricity bills..and amd cards will make your case fans go haywire easily..so you will have a louder pc also doubling partially as a room heater..

So geforce- i would go EVGA for their good customer service.. zotac is like it belongs to the second line of card manufacturers behind the top line having evga, asus, gigabyte, msi in the list..Gigabyte cards are also very good..just your personal preference betweeen the two..just look for which is clocked higher out of the box..

Just to make things clear: the r9 390x is not comparable to the 980ti. Amd is releasing the FuryX to compete with that one. The r9 390X is basically an r9 290x with a slightly higher clockspeed and double the Vram, however it might perform significantly better in upcomming games on the DirectX12 API because of better optimization. The 980 is probabably to perform a lot simmilar to the r9 390, but it will be close.
