Can anybody tell me if Gigabyte Gt 1030 low profile is compatible with legacy bios ?
Or at least tell me how to check online by myself.

I have already left a question at gigabyte website but it hasn't been answered yet.

It would really help if someone who tried this specific brand (Gigabyte) confirmed me that it support legacy bios.

Then that should be your answer.

But I have heard some stuff about cards that only support uefi bios that they don't work with legacy bios.
some people who tried that reported that they either get a black screen or get stuck in the boot screen.

That's unquestionable. It would help if you tell me what kind of issues.

The specific issue I had was with an old Dell XPS 8300 (Sandy Bridge). I went from a Radeon HD 6670 to an R9 285. It turns out that, since I was using a Gigabyte Windforce OC R9 285, which did not have a switch for legacy BIOS vs UEFI support, the 8300 would simply not boot up. It would just power on with a blank screen. No booting, no POST, nothing.

On various message boards, I later found that others had success on the XPS 8300 with the R9 285, but only those models of it that had the switch to be able to support the two different modes. Mine did not have that.

Since my son needed an upgrade of his own anyway for what he had at his mother's house, I gave him the old XPS 8300, and I got a then-new system - XPS 8700, Haswell. The Gigabyte R9 285 worked fine in the XPS 8700, as does the Founders Edition GTX 1080 I recently installed.
