Gpu Compatibility with my pc

Hi,
I want to upgrade my graphics card so I can actually get on with some decent gaming.

My question is, what is the best or fastest video/graphics card for gaming with high display settings
and watching movies, that my cpu and/or motherboard can handle?
I want to be sure the one I buy is compatible with my computer before I purchase it

I upgrade to a new graphics card

I live in india and my budget is Rs.7,000 only

Assuming you have a good quality 450 watt power supply or better, the AMD 6770 or the Nvidia 550 Ti would be a good fit.

for your current pc: radeon hd 5670 1 gb gddr5 or radeon hd 6570 1 gb ddr3/gddr5. if you have a good 450-500w psu (e.g. 80+ rated, active pfc, well reputed brand like corsair, enermax, seasonic), radeon hd 5770/6770.
for playing games at high gfx settings, bigger display - you'll need to upgrade your pc from cpu to everything.
