Question GPU Connection to PSU

Where I work, we had a few non-functioning PCs. I was able to take one home and I am trying to fix it. When I got it, the GPU was not connected, so now when I am trying to reassemble it after replacing the mobo, I don’t know how the cables were connected.

So, my PSU only has 3x2 pin cables while the cables have 4x2 pins. The only way that I can get the cables to connect to both the PSU and GPU is to slightly bend the clip on the PCIE end and insert it into the PSU and then place the PSU end into the GPU, which I don’t think would be good. Is that safe to do?

look like you need to replace the cable. get the exact cable for the psu.

like I said. you need cable that work with the psu.

Sorry, it’s a Seasonic SS-520GM, 520 watts. In case you want them, other specs:

• GPU: GTX 660ti
• CPU: i7-3770K
• Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77-DS3H
• RAM: G.Skill F3-1600C9D-16GXM (8x2gb)
• No hard drive at the moment
