Hello I have a Radeon HD 7970 http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?pid=1481

I've noticed some lines(tearing?) across the screen in some game cinematics and a slight stutter in some visuals like a loading lag of details on say a strategy map.

I went looking for the cause and I've been noticing higher temps while nothing has really changed.
I noticed that while idling I get 43c from my card and when I go onto the menu of a game(Currently playing Heroes of Might and Magic 6) It shoots straight up to 50c in a normal room temperature room(Irish winter)

I opened up the case and cleaned the whole thing out. I currently sit here with half the case open(so this means I'm down one large side fan) and the GPU fans on full using catalyst control center while sitting on the menu oh HOMM6 and It's on 43c.

Is this too hot for my card or am I overthinking?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Go into your programs and features and remove the Catalyst drivers. Restart your computer and run CCLeaner registry cleaner.

Then download the new drivers from AMDs site and install them.

You can just download and install DX9 from Microsofts site.

A graphics card can hang between 90-100c for short periods of time and still be fine.

OK so it may be related to a DX9 or driver glitch.

if its really annoying then I would start by re-installing AMD drivers and DX9 after full removal and registry clean.
