I currently have an i7 5820k oc to 4 ghz, about to purchase a new 10xx card but I'm not sure which one to go for. Been leaning more towards the 1070 msi gaming x, but now I'm wondering if I could handle a 1080 without bottlenecking. Thoughts?

Solution
😀 yes, you can DEFINITELY run a 1080. And I like msi, as a company but don't have any experience with their gpus, I only have experience with asus gpus, and I love them.
1080ti should be coming out soon if you want to go all out, if not 1080/1070 is fine depending on how much you want to pay. I'm going to get a 1080ti with my old i7-2600 non-k and expect some CPU bottleneck but the raw amount of FPS is going to be amazing, maybe a few behind faster CPUs like yours.

"What resolution is your monitor? Your cpu is great no worries there. At 1080p a 1080 would be way overkill"

I'm currently running two 1080p monitors, thinking of upgrading one to 4k
