The crash is as follows: i'll be playing a game and then the screen goes black, my monitor displays a message like: "HDMI input invalid/disconnected", for a few seconds i can still hear all of the current applications audio, but then it stops. At no moment after the screen goes black i have control over the computer, and it never shutsdown/restart.

This is something that started happening a year ago and just got worse recently.
I have a GTX 970. If i don't underclock the card (both memory and base), it will consistently crash like that when being mildly used. Here's the weird part: if it's idling, it never crashes, if it's being >80% used/stress tested, it never crashes. Only when it's around 50-60% utilization that it crashes. I've ran prime95 and FurMark simultaneously for a few minutes and nothing happened. Along with other stress tests, it's safe to say that the power supply, mobo, cpu, ram are all good. What could possibly be causing this? I've also tried changing the max power levels and it doesn't help, only underclocking does anything.

Apps i know to consistently crash: VALORANT, Yuzu/Ryujinx(any game can crash, also Vanguard was NOT installed when testing the emulators, it's not Vanguard).

Side note: for a while i was having some problems with the GPU's auto-fan controls, but reflashing the BIOS fixed that. It didn't do anything for the crashing though, so that's probably not BIOS related.

If there's any test tools, other than those mentioned here, that could be helpful, please let me know.

MOBO: Machinist RS9
CPU: Xeon E5-1650 v4
RAM: 24gb DDR4-BUFFERED-ECC
PSU: Corsair RM550x, used, 6 years, great condition.
OS: Windows 10 22h2
I have two 1tb 7200rpm HDs and one 240gb SSD.
Wireless network with PCI-e card.

Update your post to include full system hardware specs and OS information.

Include PSU: make, model, wattage, age, condition (original to build, new, refurbished, used)?

Disk drive(s): make, model, capacity, how full?

List of all connected peripherals.

Wired or wireless network?
