Question GPU dead?

Long time lurker, first time poster!

Mid-game everything went black, my computer restarted, and both monitors showed 'no signal'. I tried the following: re-seating HDMI/DP cables, dusted, removed/re-seated GPU, swapped out power cables from PSU→GPU. The result: nothing, the fans don't even spin. The computer does start up and there are no other symptoms when using onboard graphics.

Does anyone have any troubleshooting tips that I'm missing? I thought it would give me more of a warning before popping like an old light bulb, but maybe not. Is my GPU really dead?

yeah, I would think is the gpu.
the way to troubleshoot is get another gpu for testing
Thanks for the feedback, that's what I figured. Since everything is old am I in new build territory or do I put something like a 3060 in this current rig?
