Question Dead GPU ?

I shifted places and had my PC shipped via a service. Everything looked fine. I booted up the PC and I heard the Bootup sound of windows but no display. I realised that the CPU Fan had come off. When I opened the pc, one of the power slots on the GPU itself connected to the Power Supply was disconnected. Now when I turned the PC off and plugged the cables back in, my PC would turn on, all fans would spin but I get no boot up sound. Plugged the GPU out and connected the HDMI Cable to the motherboard directly instead of GPU and the PC starts as normal.

So basically, the only scenario in which the PC boots up normally is when the GPU is disconnected and the display is connected to the Mobo instead.

Is my GPU Cooked? Please help me troubleshoot.

Maybe during shipping, the GPU slightly un-seated itself from the PCI-E slot. Insert GPU again, check all cables. Check BIOS for default GPU display.

Upon closer inspection, the clip that locks in the GPU seems to have broken. I looked it up, and that shouldn’t cause much problems as long as the GPU is properly seated. I checked all the wires for any loose connections but all seems good. Still no luck

its very subtle but appears to be very mild pin damage at the rear of the card white specs or it could be dust if its dust wipe it off carefully on the gold pins. of the card.

double check power supply side of the pci connectors are replug them in if its a modular psu.

anything in shipping can happen.

if the graphic card latch is broken for releasing card try putting the pc case on its side and try booting up with the card.

Wiped it, re plugged the pci connectors and even tried using the other PCIe slot for the GPU. No luck. I think it must be the GPU or Mobo. Will try putting the card in another system. Meanwhile, any advice will be appreciated. Thanks guys

you can see if its damaged by running it in the other slot below it if it will fit.

pretty confident that its either a motherboard or gpu issue. at this point if you have a spare gpu you could try plugging it in. and if it doesnt post then its dead. if it posts most likely dead card.

and a phone call to service you used to get some sort of compensation for damage.
