Hi, new comer here, first and foremost i know little when it comes to PCs, and i finally decided to come here, i bought a GPU a while ago as an upgrade and replacement for my broken GT710 (mice got in my case, urinated and defecated on the PCB), i tried to install my new GPU (GT 1030 2GB DDR4 from a brand called "COLORFUL") set it all up, disconnected VGA cable from motherboard, plugged in GPU, used an adapter (VGA to HDMI) because my GPU only has 2 HDMI ports and my monitor only has VGA and DVI, booted it up, about to install drivers, *kinda works, the Samsung logo popped up on screen but its smaller, no response from keyboard, i cant get into bios, and motherboard beeps 1once i think every 10 seconds or so, i checked first if my GPU is broken or something by testing it from a nearby internet café, it works on multiple PCs, and i think it even automatically installed the drivers cause the desktop icons resize to normal after a few minutes, no issue at all, they're even lower in specs compared to mine, thinking the PCIE got damaged from previous incident, i bought the exact same motherboard as a replacement, did all GPU installation stuff again, alas the exact same thing happened, tried the CMOS thing, looked at the BIOS... nothing , nothing worked, i concluded its something about software, probably the BIOS setting, i honestly don't know, i now have no idea what to do, i don't want my GPU to go to waste and i wanted that upgrade, i hope someone can help or at least give an idea on what is probably happening regarding my issue, Thanks in advance.

(my PC is an old (10 years old) probably a retired office computer from South Korea, its a Samsung prebuilt came from a company called DWcts (Daewon CTS), and the OS is probably cracked, it runs on a program called "KMSpico" idk if that could be one of the issues)
btw here are my specs
i5 2400 CPU (currently using the integrated graphics)
Samsung H61s1 Motherboard
x2 4Gb 1333mhz Kingston RAM
320Gb Seagate Barracuda @7200rpm

and the random 300w PSU that it came with

Thanks again :)

It could be that your drivers need updating. The GT710 is an old card with drivers that only go up to a certain version. The GT1030 is much newer and probably needs drivers that are newer than the newest version that support the GT710.

Just checked the Nvidia website for the most recent driver version for the GT710, which is version 474.14. The GT1030 isn't supported by that version, 527.56 is the most recent version for that. Pretty safe to say that is the issue.

If you want to make sure uninstalling and reinstalling goes well, try running DDU. Manual is on the page, download links are near the bottom of the page.

can you give us more information?

why did your GT 710 get broken. How did it stop working?

I have the feeling that your power supply could already be dying due to it's extreme age.

it's a hit or miss with these old Samsung motherboards. Have a Samsung mobo older than even what you have (because this thing only supports Core 2 cpu's), and a 1030 worked fine in it. It's using a 1650 now, but the previous gpu is a GT 1030. I did not do anything special to install the 1030. Turned off the pc, put the 1030 into the slot. Turned on pc and installed drivers. Finished.

0:00 - 0:19 CPU-Z to show Q9500, GPU-Z to show the 1650, and HWMonitor to show that temps are normal.
1:33 - Street Fighter V - playable at 900p
4:55 - Xenon Racer - playable at 1080p.

thanks for response, my GT710 got literally pissed on and defecated by a mice, i found that out later when i removed the card for closer look, i just turned on my PC just like the usual and it doesn't output any video on screen, just blacked out, after i found out that there's urine and poop on my GPU i removed it and cleaned it thoroughly as i can and tried to save it.

i forgot to mention that i talked to the guy who runs that internet café to basically help me to find what's wrong and try to troubleshoot it, and i tested my PC with the 1030 installed, with his new PSU, i think this one exactly( View: https://imgur.com/a/mRw9emo
)
it still didn't work/the exact same thing happened, but again after testing on other PC with probably the same quality, watts and age of PSUs, it worked just fine, but yeah...might be the PSU, i honestly dont know, my PC runs fine rn.

here's a photo of my 710( View: https://imgur.com/a/PSxPffy
) 1st photo is after i discovered the issue, 2nd photo is after i cleaned it and tried to run it again, that's all i got on my screen, i tried it the 3rd time, and that time its really dead, no spinning fan, no video output and i decided to not use it again fearing it might mess with the other parts inside that i definitely cant afford to replace yet.

thanks for response, i also tried to remove the old GPU drivers before installing it again, but me not knowing anything, i didnt use a DDU, i think i just removed the old 710 drivers from files, idk i forgot, im afraid to do anything software wise on my PC so im kinda hesitant to use DDU for now, and i also dont know how to use it without messing something up, still, thanks!

since the previous GPU is also Nvidia. A clean install should solve this.

download the latest driver from the official Nvidia website. Choose "Install Nvidia Drivers and Geforce Experience", then choose "Express Install" important .. be sure to tick the box for "clean installation" - this should remove whatever remains of the GT 710 drivers, and install the gpu properly on your pc.
