Question GPU Fan help

My FPS was really bad recently, so after looking at PC stats I noticed that when my FPS was good, my fan would be over 1500 RPM. I've tried MSI Afterburner to keep my fan speed at 100% but the RPM always goes back down after a few minutes even though it's still at 100%. What should I do?

I would not have the fan at 100% all the time it can damage the fan. Why are you setting the fan that high anyway? If it does not slow after the reboot I would check by right clicking the task bar and selecting task manager look at afterburner process. If it still stays at 100% I would remove afterburner.

I would also recommend trying to set a custom fan curve after, the drop of frames could be due to overheating, so a custom fan curve can cool it down quicker than the auto setting.

I dont keep my fan speed at 100% at all times. When I noticed my fan speed was somehow related to my FPS, i downloaded afterburner to keep my fan at a consistent rate. I keep it at 50% most times, but when I’m gaming my fps is really low and only when I turn the speed up to 100% does my FPS increase.

Have you checked the fan on the gpu for dust and inside the case. use canned air to blow it off . Seems to me that when you are playing games the gpu gets pushed and heats up than the FPS slows down. What happens when the system is off and reboots does the fan go back to the setting you have set in afterbuner before game playing?
