Hi I've had a noisy PC for a long time but just recently i unplugged my GPU to see if it was making the noise and it was. so i was just wondering if there is any way to turn the fan speed down or if i have to get a new card (which i was thinking about anyway) could you guys give me a recommendation please. :)

here are my system specs:

PSU: Corsair tx650
CPU: intel core 2 quad processor q8300 @2.5GHz
GPU: nvidia Geforce gtx 570 1gb
Motherboard: Acer EG43M
Ram: 6GB DDR2

First of all, try cleaning your GPU. Disassemble cooling system, clean everything thoroughly and put everything back on. You can also change stock thermal paste, if you feel like doing so.
That's the very first thing you should really do, since usually GPUs start getting louder when there is much dust gathered in them. Thorough cleaning usually helps a lot, in most cases.
It is essential to do GPU-cleaning at least once in 2~4 years, even if your PC is stationed in a very clean room. This way your GPU will always be in the most good condition possible.

I've decided that I'm going to get a new graphics card, could i have your opinions on graphics cards between £100-£225 that can play on a dual monitor configuration. thanks

Hmmmm..you definitely have some money there, brah. Also, UK, huh?

Well, I can recommend getting this (Radeon) or this (GeForce). Get any of these two and you're pretty much good to go with almost everything maxed out while on two monitors.

His CPU is a Quad. Of course it's old, no denying that, but it won't bottleneck those GPUs I offered to him.

If you (for some strange, unknown reason) can't do it in the thread (usually there's a button), check your PM, there should be a message with a prompt, or something...if I'm not mistaken. Or you can try contacting moderator of this section and ask him to give "best answer" to the person and post pointed out by you.

Of course it won't bottleneck, but he would get a lot better performance out of an i5. Those GPUs are more of a side-grade than an upgrade TBH, I wouldn't "upgrade" to those, even if I absolutely "omgwtfbbqsauce" wanted to have an extra monitor or 5.

I suggest upgrading the mobo + cpu to something more recent (or wait until haswell if you can hold out) then if you need more GPU power simply SLi the 570. The scaling was quite good on those from what I remember.

(its an upgrade but just not one I consider worthy of spending that much money on)
