Question GPU Fan will not slow down

I have a GeForce GTX 1050 and just recently, when i enter into a game, the fan kicks up speed and will not slow down no matter how long I sit idle after exiting the game. If I reboot the PC it runs normally but it is annoying to not be able to get the fan to slow down. I have blown out all fans on my PC including the GPU one (yes a bit of dust) and that did not help.

Any ideas?

Well, if it detects that you go into a game there might be a fan setting that you can change.

It doesn't spin up right away. I assume once the GPU is under load it heats up and the fan starts to spin up. It just never spins down.

Still looking for an answer. If I put the PC to sleep and wake it up, the fan stays low. Any suggestions?

Are the fans being connected to the fan headers on the motherboard? Or is it being powered on by a fan splitter or molex?

I am speaking solely about the fan(s) on the GPU card itself. Nothing plugged into the motherboard. Those fans are fine . Well technically there is a molex on the card too.
