GPU fit for case?

So I have a Cooler Master K380.

I recently bought a Gigabyte GTX 1080 Windforce OC which is 280mm long, now according to the Specs of my K380 (http://assets.coolermaster.com/global/upload/product_feature/K380-ph1.jpg) it can fit up to 279mm in the current GPU slot. But it says at the bottom it can fit a 316mm card with no HDD.

I was wondering, How do I get my card in that position down there? Or will it fit nicely in the 279mm slot? And if it doesn't, does it require me to change stuff up with my power supply etc to get the slot down there? (I know I might have to swap some HDDs here and there for sure if it has to be down there)

I hope someone can help because this picture isn't quite enlightening me.

The illustration you've linked, is kind of misleading. It's not just for the bottom but for the entire line starting from your first PCIe slot. If you don't have an HDD running along the first PCIe slot where you GPU should naturally go, then you can drop in a 316mm long card. If the card doesn't fit, the worst case scenario for you would be to go and buy a new case which has an open interior layout like the N200(provided your board is matx).

Might it be possible to pass on your current system's full specs?

Since you have the case and the card, try it.

What is your motherboard?

You probably do not want to use anything except the first pcie X16 slot running at X16

With the right motherboard, you might run at X8 in slot3/4, but rarely in slot 7 which may be x1/x2/x4.

It looks to me like there should be no problem in slot 1 so long as you do not install a 3.5" hard drive where it could conflict.

And for 1mm, a bit of bending or dremel swork could make it fit if necessary.

Excuse me for the ''late'' reaction but yes, I sure can:

MOBO: MSI Bazooka B150M (M ATX indeed)
CPU: Intel Core i7 7700k clocked at base clock speed (4,2ghz)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-2400
Current GPU: MSI GTX 1060 Gaming X 3GB
PSU: Corsair CX600M (upgrading that soon to a Seasonic Focus Plus Gold 750W, since the CX600M is apparently not the most reliable PSU)
And for internal memory I have 2 Samsung EVO SSDs of 250GB and 1 WD Blue 1TB SSD (I like SSD's)
