I've been wanting a high refresh rate monitor for a long time now, and have finally saved up enough that I can buy one.

The thing is, I also will need a GPU upgrade (at least), but I'm not sure which one I should get.

I can't really say which games I'll be playing, as I switch from one to another all the time, but I want to be guaranteed to be able to play even the most demanding games at at least high settings with enough FPS to take advantage of the new monitor.

I think a 980 should be enough, but I still want to know more details before I get one. Perhaps a 970 would be enough (doubt it)? Or do I need a 980 TI? Or maybe even SLI?

Any suggestions?

Seriously? Even with an insane, beast PC? I can't believe GTX 990 TI (or SLI, if that's even possible) won't be able to play it easily.

Well, at least, as high as possible while maintaining very high FPS. My budget isn't really all that limited, and I think I can afford anything below Titan. Of course, the less the cost, the better.

I meant only to the GTX970 like posted above my post.
A single GTX970 can not always give you above 60 fps on all games.
GTX980Ti will eat every games today above 60 fps on 1080p.
