title says it all...will overclock so I heard gtx 780 better than r9 290 for ocing and i heard if i choose 290 then i would have to install physx on cpu and my cpu(i5 4690k) would not be good for that and to upgrade to i7 4790k

I looked at benchmarks and it seems r9 290 better than gtx 780 but what happens when you oc? Im assuming gtx 780 is better right?

Which model should i get?

here is my build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/8K488d if that helps with recommennding me a gpu.

any other comments on the rest of my build or how to improve it would also be appreciated...Im looking for a z97 motherboard between $100-$160 any suggestions for mobo?

thanks

the gigabyte 290 doesn't do nearly as good a job as the sapphire tri-x or msi gaming 290 at cooling the vrms and mosfets.

yes, limiting the 290 and the 780 to an 82c max core temp, equal cooler to equal cooler, the 780 overclocks much better and for the most part is faster than the 290 in games, though you would be hard pressed to ever tell the difference of a few fps.

the gigabyte z97x gaming 5 is a great motherboard.

throw a phanteks or a noctua air cooler on the 4690k and your good to go. though you should just get the crucial mx100 256gb ssd instead since its just as fast if not faster than the samsung evo and at $105 its the new ssd to beat as far as consumer value is concerned.

seems this the best 780 for under 500 because it has higher clock speed right? I see gigabyte has even higher clock speed for under 500 but heard those get hotter right...so less overclock correct?
