Gpu for pentium 3240

I need a good graphics card for a pentium g3240 without bottlenecking my pc.

Intel Pentium G3240
4gb Crucial Ballistix Ram
Msi H81M-P33
EVGA 500w psu

anything other than a low end GPU like the 750ti or r5 260 will usually get bottlenecked by that CPU

Anything up to a 370/270(x)/GTX 750Ti/GTX 950 should work. To be honest I have seen people say you should get a GTX 970 with a G3258. Maybe you could even squeeze in a 960/380/280/285/280x

I think you're confusing the 3.1GHz fixed speed G3240 and the overclockable G3258. Only the G3258 would be able to handle a 960/380 or better, and only at fairly high overclocks (usually near 4.5GHz)

To be fair, a non-overclocked G3258 and a G3240 are basically the same.

And it's pointless below ~4GHz where it finally competes with the i3 4370

For a stock G3240 (which all are), the 750ti is the best you can go without throwing away a good chunk of the card's performance
