Question Gpu into 2nd pcie 16 slot?

Title is basically it. Can you plug in your gpu rtx card into the 2nd slot? Reason is it over take my other slots. If I can plug it in my 2nd one I'll have both of the others available for something else.. and I wouldnt block my gpus fans.

Yep you can. But the fastest and optimal slot is the first one which is PCIE x16 slot.
The rest are 8x and below, which will affect performance quite a bit. But it you really wanna, you can 😀

you don't offer any absolute for components, or board in general,
so noone could offer you any definitives.

In most of the motherboards, the first PCIE slot if the one that is directly connected to the CPU, to the other slots (even if they are 16x) they will lack a little bit than the first slot.

EDIT: also, the first slot is meant for a GPU specifically, thus it has every benefit over the other slots. there's nothing stopping you from connecting to the second slots, but be ready for the performance dip.

If it is the same b650 board from your other posts then that 2nd 16x slot only runs at upto 4x speeds not the full 16x.

Like all the other commenters said, your GPU will be handicapped if you put it in any other slot than the first. The slot closest to the CPU is the fastest, no way around this. If it is blocking your other slots, get a PCIE riser.
