GPU LIMIT Message with MSI Afterburner

Good morning i have problem with my GPU or PSU and i cannot identify which one is. As soon as i open the FFXV Benchmark tool, i get a GPU LIMIT message from MSI Afterburner, and my PC shutdowns. This happened to me with the PC version of Vanquish, but i capped the game to 60FPS and now is all good

What could it be? this is my setup

Apparently, according to FurMark as soon as i hit 38-39c degrees with my GPU(i don't think is a temp problem personally) my PC shutdown). I tried the GPU stress tool

My PSU its a Rosewill of 650 Watts. I tried Furmark GPU stress Tool, and again the FFXV benchmark. Indeed those throw me a GPU LIMIT message. Is not a temp problem, i tried Batman Arkham Knight for around an hour and i got temp around 40-45c and all was good. Its something else

No, not at all. It shutsdown when i stress the GPU. I had a similar problem with the PC version of Vanquish, but after i capped the FPS to 60 (it was around 120fps), the game works like wine, not problem at all.

Sorry for the triple bump. Is need a GPU Voltage LIMIT according to MSI afterburner. What could i do? do i need to buy a new PSU?

Revert settings to default.
Go to settings on last tab User Interface, select Msi cyborg or any last 5
and power limit and temp limit tab will show.
Slide them to max and try again.

Oh i forgot to ask does your gpu use PCIE power connector?

Yes, my PSU use a PCIE power connector (6-pin). I haven't touch ANYTHING from the PSU or GPU, just update the drivers and the bios of the motherboard. And i believe my GPU, as i listed in the first post, doesnt allow me to change the core voltage

No, as you set different skin on MSI you get Power and Temp limit for GPU, gpu limit may be limiting power going to GPU.
I have 1050ti as i set to Compatibility properties Enable All, Except restore settings,
Enable low level hardware access interface User Mode
Unlock voltage control Third Party
and i got Core voltage unlocked.

i enable all the options, and now i can indeed i unlock core voltage. But what i am messing with me here? it is safe? what should i do?

Increase only power limit to max and test out scenario which you get crash or BSOD.

Uninstall MSI afterburner and re-try scenario. I think MSI is conflicting with something.
Do you have any other software that can conflict with it (if you installed recently and this started to happen, even including MSI)?

Only Rivatuner and Speedfan.

Are we 100% sure that this problem can be solved? i cannot afford a new power supply

Uninstall MSI and try, if that doesn't work,
Download DDU, uninstall drivers, restart, reinstall drivers, try again,if not install MSI Sled the Power Limit and Core voltage to max (dont worry) and Fan Speed. But Be sure That core voltage doesn't go above 1.2V or 1200mV~

Otherwise it could be bad BIOS of your GPU.

Your power supply has nothing to do with your GPU voltage. If you didn't have enough amperage available the system would just crash under load.

If you want your GPU to run faster you need to use a tool like MSI Afterburner to increase your core voltage and possibly temperature + power limits.

The options were, bios is bugged (not first time i had also) bump up power limit and core voltage to test scenario,
Now i saw that SkyNetRising asked you which psu you had, i see 42A(+-10%) and 1060 3GB doesnt draw over 120W,

The only thing you can now is try other PCIE power 6pin.
And your friend is right.
For how long do you have your PSU and which Specific brand do you have, because there are models like bronze gold etc..

Okay so, news. Is not the PSU, or at least we didn't think so.

First i updated the drivers of the GPU with the latest nvidia drivers (i think they were 390.77). After that the problem somewhat get better. I managed to finish the benchmark of FFXV at least two times in both Standard Resolution and in High Resolution, with almost no problems. Then i tired Arkham Knight and i got the shutdown. Then i didn't even managed to get pass the first screens of the FFXV benchmark tool.

Then we tried with my GPU into his PC with a different PSU:

It went 100% fine. After that we tried with the Roswell PSU into his PC with my GPU, still, everything went fine. So the PSU is not the problem. At this point we didn't manage to try with the thermaltake PSU into my PC (he didn't wanted to get the thermaltake PSU off of the case because of the cable management). But i guess we tried enough to know that is NOT the power supply, right?

So; what can i do? Certainly is neither the GPU or PSU. I didn't wanted to spend unnecesary money, but i guess that if is the Motherboard, the problem then is even worse

I think it can be lack of power for CPU or RAM or even for Chipset itself, yeah it could be bad config of bios.
If voltage for CPU stock is for example 1.2V try 1.25V, same for ram if its DDR3 stock would be 1.5V try 1.6V. But its soo weird, OH and try to clear CMOS and reseat ram, first then increase voltage for ram and cpu (Look online stock voltage of CPU).

If you have latest bios, try one earlier (JUST KEEP AN EYE FOR REVISION WHEN YOU DOWNLOAD) and see if CPU is SUPPORTED by that specific bios in LIST.

Its hyperthreaded like i3 then if its 1.08V, set it to 1.1V~, RAM is safe up to 1.6V for a brief of time to test it (i have mine for over 2 years on 1.65V).
Other settings i wouldn't touch.

Not sure what else could be. Did you try another wall PLUG?
Is fresh windows reinstall possible?

Are you sure that PCIE power connector is seated propertly into your GPU?Try another PCIE.
