Hello all!

I just built a computer recently, and thought about GPU mining as a way to pay for gas for my car I will be driving and other things. I live with my parents, as I am still in high school, and don't want a job that will distract me from education. I scrolled through some forums, but got scattered answers and found really complicated articles that werent really direct. Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel Pentium G4560 @3.5 GHz
GPU: ASUS AMD RX 480 with 4GB GDDR5
Motherboard: ASUS Z270-K
PSU: EVGA Supernova 650W 80+ Gold
Case: Cooler Master HAF XB EVO
OS: Windows 10 Home 64 Bit
RAM: 8GB Hyper FuryX 2133 DDR4

I am afraid that this will stress my GPU and decrease lifespan. Should i get a separate graphics card with a PCI riser? What program(s) is/are simple to use and efficient to mine with? Any GPU recommendations? Will power draw be really high? What crypto currency is easy to mine and is profitable?

I am in no hurry, but want to create a sound and easy way to mine a few bucks to cover minimal costs of driving around town, and potentially more serious PC upgrades.

Thank you for taking the time to read this thread. Greatly appreciated.

apparently possible but the train is moving very very fast that u can earn about 1$ a day depending what you mine.
For your RX480 and Intel you have a great start though.

I can see it hard to mine bitcoin, but what about other cryptocurrencies like ethereum and dogecoin?
