Basically what the subject line says - my motherboard isn't detecting any GPUs as PCIe devices at all. Help would be greatly appreciated :)

Parts:
Mobo: MSI Z170A SLI PLUS
GPUs: RX 470, R9 Fury

For context, I originally started out with a RX 470, but I recently upgraded to a 4K display, so I decided to buy a R9 Fury instead. After using DDU to sweep the old GPU drivers from my computer, I tried plugging the R9 Fury in (with both 8-pin connectors) - and got no response; MSI board explorer showed nothing in that port. I then retried my RX 470, and got the same problem. Does anyone have suggestions?

I've tried both x16 slots on my mobo, and one was working yesterday (I had the RX 470 plugged into it). Side note - I plugged a PCIe WLAN card into both of the x16 slots sequentially to test them, and it worked in both.

Does loading default values work for resetting CMOS?

if doing the bios thing doesnt work, then the capacitor for the x16 slots might be fried

The thing is, they were working yesterday with the RX 470... what are the chances that they fried today?

There is only one PCI card installed now - that's the GPU, and I updated the BIOS today. I'll look at the chipset drivers now.

Update: everything checks out
