Hi guys! Please help me solving this mystery

I have two graphic cards of the same model.
GPU1 is not detected by my previous motherboard (MB1) and my current motherboard (MB2) but working fine on other PCs.
GPU2 is working flawlessly with my current motherboard (MB2)

GPU1 : Gigabyte RTX 3060 Gaming OC 12GB (bought in 2022)
GPU2 : Gigabyte RTX 3060 Gaming OC 12GB (bought in 2024)
MB1 : Asus Prime A520m-e
MB2 : Asus Prime A520m-a ii

System info,
  • CPU : Ryzen 5 5600G
  • RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600MHz 16GB*2 (also have 3200MHz 8GB*2 and checked different combinations)
  • MB : Asus Prime A520m-a ii
  • PSU : XPG Core Reactor 650W Gold Monitor : Samsung T45F 24" FHD (HDMI, Displayport)
  • OS: Windows 10
What I saw,
  • GPU1 has a RGB logo and it's on
  • GPU1 fans only spins few seconds in one attempt, in another attempt they spins continuously with normal speed
  • When turned on, monitor detects it's HDMI or Display port connected but going standby mode without getting display signal.
  • Most of the time PC starts without giving any POST errors, if I remove the HDMI cable from GPU1 and connect it to MB's port I can get the display and work normally using iGPU
  • GPU1 is not showing in Device Manager
I tried,
  • swapping HDMI, Display Port cables
  • resetting UEFI settings, removing CMOS battery etc.
  • swapping RAM sticks, adding one by one, disabling DOCP
  • uninstalling Nvidia drivers from Device Manager, using DDU (not in safe mode)
I haven't tried,
  • swapping PSU, CPU, Monitor
  • updating MB BIOS
  • updating vBIOS (idk if it's a good idea)
I'd assume MB2 could be the main culprit but since GPU2 is working fine on MB2, it doesn't make sense to me now. Please Help!

- Background Story -

I bought GPU1 in 2022 as a used one, it had some corrosion but worked fine for 1.5 years. Then it started to giving no display after about 5-30 mins of turning on the PC. I checked the GPU1 using another PC and it worked fine. So I assumed my MB1 was faulty and replaced it with MB2. But the no display issue continued. Then I tried GPU1 on a friend's PC but faced the same no display issue. Then I bought GPU2 and it worked with my MB2 without any issues. I sent GPU1 for repair and the guy told me there were some shorts in one HDMI port. He fixed those, cleaned up the GPU1 and sent me a video as proof. But when I tried to use GPU1 in my PC with my MB2 it giving me the same no display issue. So I installed it on another PC and it gave display, I couldn't test GPU1 more there but it's clear there is something wrong with my PC.

So please let me know if you know any solutions.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

How old is your PSU in your build and what di it power throughout it's tenure? Source(borrow, not buy) a reliably built 750W unit

I wouldn't update the VBIOS just yet, but make sure you're on the latest BIOS version for your motherboard. As for your motherboard, did you reinstall the OS after the motherboard swap?

GPU1 : Gigabyte RTX Gaming OC 12GB (bought in 2022)
GPU2 : Gigabyte RTX Gaming OC 12GB (bought in 2024)

For the sake of clarity, which RTX GPU are you referring to? We're currently living with 3 generations of RTX technology, soon to be 4 once the RTX5000 series launches.

RAM : Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3600MHz 16GB*2 (also have 3200MHz 8GB*2 and checked different combinations)
You're not mixing and matching rams, now, are you?

I bought it brand new in Dec 2022. It used to power above mentioned system (R5 5660G, RTX 3060, 120*1 CPU air cooler, 120*2 case fans, 1*NVMe SSD, 1*2.5" HDD, 1*SATA SSD)
I measured the power draw using a smart plug, it never reached 300W. I think it's a good PSU according to Cultists PSU Tier List
make sure you're on the latest BIOS version for your motherboard.
I'm currently on v3405 (Sep 2023), v3611 (Nov 2024) available on Asus website. I was afraid to update it
did you reinstall the OS after the motherboard swap?
Yes I did reinstall Windows after getting MB2

Oh I'm really sorry! I couldn't believe I missed the most crucial information. It's Gigabyte RTX 3060 Gaming OC 12GB. Both of them

On MB1 (had only 2 slots) I used 2*8GB 3200MHz sticks and later replaced them with 2*16GB 3600MHz sticks. After about a month I got the no display issue from GPU1
Then I got the MB2 (has 4 slots) I put all four sticks following the correct order and used 3200MHz as DOCP profile. It is working fine with GPU 2.
However I'm not using all four sticks when checking GPU1. I tried with single 8GB stick without DOCP and then dual sticks but couldn't get display from GPU1. Maybe once I tried all of them but didn't get any better result.

Thank you very much for answering me :)
