GPU not reading

Hi I've recently purchased the GTX 1070 armor for my PC, after putting the card in and connecting everything up there is no input being recognized atal onto the computer. With the card in nothing comes onto the monitor.

Also when the card is in the PC and turned on there is a RED light right above where the card is coming from the motherboard

My monitor uses VGA and i have an adapter for the DVI-D on the card. however it doesnt work.
Have tried using hdmi to a small screen also still nothing.

My Spec are:

650w PSU
Asus z170-a Motherboard
2x 8gb ripjaw RAM
GTX 1070 armor edition (Currently using on board graphics)

I have a new monitor coming soon which will have hdmi.

Any help is appreciated

What is the brand and model of the power supply? All power connected to the card? Try a BIOS update on the motherboard?

I'm unsure of the brand or model ><, It's rather old though. Also doesnt have the 8pin to support the card. Pretty sure this is the issue after looking again. Will try with a more powerfull PSU once i can get one. Thanks!
