Hi guys, since I'm a raging gamer (Hate to lose) I've hit my alienware m14xr1 laptop many times so hard that gpu started to render strange shapes and colours in game (thus i uninstalled drivers and now can't reinstall them, gets stuck in setup) so it's a hardware issue, I am still hoping(and yet praying) that it's a misconnection in solders of chip, so I bought a heat gun and willing to reflow it using hot air.
I tested on some old graphics card I had in home and I noticed how tricky this job is I'm wondering if you have any similar experience to share with me before proceeding (temperature, time, gun distance, nozzle size, flux type, movement, ...)
, I should mention that gpu is glued at 4corners to mainboard so I'm just planning for a reflow now
thx

Solution
Bad ideal.

Not only is it a slim chance of working, you risk damaging other components in the laptop.

If you are going to do this, take the entire motherboard out of the laptop and strip it of everything.
