Discussion GPU only works when not connected to PCIE Connectors

Hello I recently built a pc 3 days ago everything was going fine after I built it powered on everything was working as expected. The 2nd day now i was mid game playing call of duty and my pc completely shut off. After Doing some troubleshooting I figured out after I removed my GPU the pc booted up fine , even When I connect it back to the mobo it’s fine but when I connect the pcie cables it no longer boots up.

specs, Ryzen 7 3700x, Asus 2070 super, 16g ram 750W EVGA psu

I did it turns on with another GPU but the GPU I tested didn’t require the 6 and the 6+2 to be connected only the 6 pin

tried it with another mobo and cpu did the same thing it turned on with no cables but with pcie connected it doesn’t power so do you think it’s my gpu or psu cables

I would think is the gpu

GPU trips the PSU into protection mode. One of the PCIe power connectors is shorted, likely a VRM issue. Get a new GPU or send this one for RMA.
