gpu overclock panic question

ok so I do not really want to overclock anything I have msi afterburner as a accurate temp monitor however I accidently moved the core clock and it says 135 mhz 405 mhz power limit 100 temp limit 80 the temp is low right now 35 however when I accidently moved the core clock the fan roared it startled me I really do not want to oc is my gpu in any danger i fired up doom and it went to 1278 mhz 3505 mhz

a gpu has two modes idle and under load when under-load the card will increase in frequency and fan speed its normal

ok but when i did the "accidentsl overclock I hit the refresh tab on afterburner howeber I noticed a performance deacrease in some games did that undo what I did or is there another step I want to undo what I did

if you pushed the reset button the card is running at stock frequency with no overclock.
