Hello,
Last week I upgraded cpu from 2700x to 5700X3D. First I upgraded BIOS from F31 to latest F65d version, then changed cpu but there vas red VGA light on mobo and there was no signal on monitor (tried DP and HDMI). I tried changing CMOS battery, reseting bios, different bios versions, just couldn't get it running. PC always booted when I put 2700x back in. Finally I put GPU in PCIEX8 lane and PC booted with 5700x3d cpu. Current version of BIOS is F64. Whenever I put back 2700x in PC I can use PCIEX16 for GPU. Tried some gaming and stress tests with 5700x3d and GPU in PCIEX8 lane and PC works well for now. Now my question is what to do to put GPU back in PCIEX16 lane?

Best regards

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Did you follow through the notes outlined in red on the support page for the motherboard
https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X470-AORUS-ULTRA-GAMING-rev-10/support#support-dl-bios
? There's a specific sequence of tasks you need to follow through before moving onto the next BIOS version, in case you jumped from F31 to F65d.

i.e, F31>F40>F41>F42g>F50>F65d, while paying heed to update the EC FW as mentioned in BIOS notes for F40.

Moved thread from CPUs section to Systems section.

Thanks for reply.
Few months ago I tried upgrading BIOS from F31 to F40 with old cpu but couldn't install EC FW tool (runned exe file, but screen went blank and nothing happened, so after abou 30mins I restarted PC manually). I once again tried this weekend and there was same problem so that's why I went for latest BIOS. Is there a way to check if EC FW did the job done?

Best regards
