GPU price opinion

What would you rather buy based on these prices:
(I am looking for a decent 1080p card that can last at least 3 years on high quality settings)

Sapphire AMD PCX R9 280X 3GB GDDR5 TRI-X STD w/BOOST for 244$

or

Sapphire AMD PCX NITRO R9 380 4GB GDDR5 DUAL-X DX12 w/Backplate for 271$ ?

280x is a faster card. Both are decent for 1080p gaming though.

Is the newer software on the 380 worth over the power of the 280x? Also is there a big difference between tri-x and dual-x ?

I'm not really sure about the software, but that additional gig of vram will come into play with Shadow of Mordor or modded Skyrim for example. 380 is ~5% slower than 280x, so I doubt you'd see much of a difference and I'd trade off that 5% speed for better drivers and additional gig of vram any day. I also don't think there's a huge difference between dual-x and tri-x.
