Recently I shipped a system to a friend of mine. He accidentally plugged his hdmi into the motherboard and not the actual GPU itself. It did display with the integrated gpu of course, but when he shut it down and plugged it in to the GPU itself this time, it could not display nor was it on (with fans off). I made him try a lot of things like going into BIOS and see if the GPU setting was set to PEG and not integrated, it was set as PEG. I made him re-seat the graphics card and it still did not work.
I came up with 4 things:

1. GPU is dead?

2. The power supply might be the problem because it has been in use for 3 years now (used in a different PC too), but it still produces 12v according to BIOS.

3. During the shipping, it may have damaged the motherboard? It could've damaged the PCIE slot, but who knows.

4. Something wonky happened at BIOS and I don't know what.

I would appreciate if I had some help. Thank you.

Edit: PSU is an EVGA 500w 80 plus (non bronze). Motherboard is an MSI H81M-E34. GPU is a GTX 960 PNY.
