i recently bought a graphics card ( a GTX 670) from eBay recently. I new it was used but i decided that it was worth saving $200 for. Unfortunately i received the item in saran wrap. It is touching the gold teeth and everything.
Do you guys think there's a chance it will still work or should i should ask for my $$$ back?

Solution
Yikes.

Saran wrap uses the exact thing that kills electronics to stick together - static electricity (ie. electro-static discharge, or ESD).

You're more than welcome to take the above suggestion and give it a try - hell, it may work like a champ. But, for how long? Did you receive any kind of warranty period? If not, I'd urge you to request a refund ASAP.

ESD (electro-static discharge) damage can either kill electronics immediately, or damage them slightly causing them to fail at a later date. There is absolutely no way for anyone to tell what, if any damage has been done to every single component on the PCB, including the GPU chip itself.

As a QC inspector in an integrated circuit (microchip) testing laboratory, I personally...

I will most likely return the item as i don't want to take the risk of keeping it only to find it stop working later on. But if I do test it out, will it possibly harm other components or the motherboard if it doesn't work
