Wondering if you guys can help me decide what GPU to buy.

I'm looking to get around 60fps with graphics maxed out if possible, but my current setup only gets around 40ps at medium graphic settings in most recent titles.

I've read the GTX 1070 would be perfect for 1440p gaming, but I wonder if that GPU wouldn't be bottlenecked with my current CPU.

Here is my setup:

RESOLUTION: 2560×1440

CPU: i5-4460

GPU: Powercolor R9 280X

RAM: DDR3 667mhz (2x 4GB sticks) Kingston

POWER SUPPLY: Corsair 650wts

MOTHERBOARD: ASUS B85M-E

All help is appreciated :)

Solution
When you move up in resolution, the bottleneck moves from the CPU to the GPU. So you really don't need to worry about CPU bottlenecking as much at 1440p. The 1070 or Vega 56 would be what you need for 1440p gaming. Your current CPU will do fine in most games. But in some CPU heavy games, such as Battlefield, there will be a performance hit. But games would still be playable.

Oops, sorry. Checked NewEgg Canada and yikes, sorry about the pricing over there. 1070/1070ti recommendation still stands otherwise though.

lol, I didn't put 2 and 2 together.

I just checked the ultimate bottlenecking guide and it says that my cpu (I5-4460) would bottleneck a GTX 1070 in *everything*.

Just buy on NewEgg and ship to any UPS Store on the US side... Ive been doing this for 20 years. UPS will charge you $5 per package.

Piece of cake.
