Hi,

I was wondering if you could help me out. I have an Nvidia GTX 980 from Gigabyte. I am experiencing a GPU restart with certain games (not PC, only GPU). Screen just goes black, and after few seconds, it comes up again.

I have found out, that this issue can be prevented with enabling a Debugging mode in Nvidia Control panel. So I take it, that PC is not able to take the overclocking of the card. The problem is, that I have not been overclocking it in any way, so it has to be the issue with factory overclock.

My thought was a bad power supply, but this happens only in a few games, and they are not even the most demanding ones. Star Wars The Old Republic, and my flight simulator, Lockheed Martin Prepar3D.

So I don't know what to think about this.

Thank you.

This can also be driver related. Uninstall all drivers and clean system with DDU. Re-install latest drivers and test again. It can be PSU related as well , double check your power connections to the card. make sure you using the PSU connections and not MOLEX to PCI-E power connectors.

Please give full pc specs.

Thanks for quick answer. I have already tried to clean it with DDU, but the problem still remain. I have already check the cables, and they fit well.

What you can try : Install MSI Afterburner and bump POWER LIMIT to +25%. If that does not help , you can try a fresh install of Windows.
