Question GPU Riser on old motherboard

While 1x to 16x adapter/risers exist, I believe you'll be limited to 25w instead of 75w, assuming your intention isn't plugging external power into the GPU from your PSU. Those risers are like 10 bucks on Amazon, so it'd be a matter of trying it and see if it works. If it doesn't you likely lost more money buying the riser than the worth of the deprecated board you're slapping it on to.

No shaming involved in this, but what is the goal here? Cheap Android TV? Enthusiastic re-use of old hardware? Have it already let's see if it works?
If it's the former, then I'd look at cheap options on the used market, hell, even a Chromecast or similar. The latter two will be a matter of whether more experienced people than me are willing to jump into this thread :) I just think it's good to set the scope and expectations of the discussion.
