GPU running on low, med, or high?

I have been recently researching how well my gpu is performing for a game.

Articles will commonly say try running your card at low, or medium or high... yet what does this mean? I do not see these options anywhere... I have a m295x AMD with catalyst control center options...

I am VERY new to understanding all of this so PLEASE help me.

They mean in the game. The graphics level. set the graphics in the game to low, med, high, ultra, etc.
