I recently bought an Gainward Phoenix rtx 3080 . The card seems fine and runs cool at idle( 29-32c). But once I put a strain on it, such as in vr gaming, the second the card hits 80c it crashes completely. I have to reset my pc from the PSU switch.
There's no throttling, or warning, it just immediately crashes. Even if I set the fans to 100% speed it happens.
This happens after a few minutes of running a 4k benches, or about 10 mins of playing DCS World in vr.
I had previously used my girlfriends 3080 in my build with no issues at all. Her card would hit about 85c and keep gaming fine. Even my old 1080ti was handling vr gaming ( just about) without crashes.
Since this has started, I've added 2 more fans to my case, and upgraded to a new PSU ( 850w gold NZXT)
Can I increase the temperature at which the card shuts down?
Specs:
Gainward Phoenix rtx 3080
R5 3600
32GB DDR4 @3000MHz
B450-f
NZXT C850w Gold.
