GPU slowing boot up

Hello,

Recently we were able to buy a Asus GTX1050ti Expedition. After installing the GPU to the motherboard, the boot up slowed down. I am also using a HDMI to VGA adapter since the monitor I'm using only has a VGA cord. I'm worried if the sudden dip in boot up speed is a warning that the hard drive is about to break.

Any opinions on possible cause?

Thank you.

Did your gpu driver come with any additional software?
If yes, just search msconfig and turn off any unwanted applications.
Another possible issue is that your drivers may be conflicting if you previously had an amd video card.

It did came with a dvd, but the pc's dvd reader is broken so I just downloaded the installer from the Asus website itself.
Before installing the additional software the boot up was already slowed down, the same for after installing the software.

Hello,

I tried your suggestion, updating the BIOS, but still no luck. The boot up is still slowed down.

My previous card was an old gtx 650ti. I removed the drivers before installing the new drivers for the gtx1050ti card.

I'll try deleting the drivers and see if boot up speed improves after reinstalling them.

Update:
I tried removing the drivers and installing them, but the boot is still slow.

A few days ago, boot speed increase, but after changing the VGA-HDMI adapter the boot slowed down again.
