Please keep it to 1 thread.
So one of my ram gave up on me and makes my pc not boot with it plugged in and my GPU doesnt like that apparently.

To simplify

Pc turns on with no GPU but no boot

Pc turns on 1 sec and off with gpu with 6 pin

Pc turns on with gpu no 6 pin and go boom and smoke

I just want to know why it did that. Please.

Check for causes of electrical shorts inside computer with a multimeter. It's often the cause of the problem when the computer powers on for a second or two but then powers off completely. Inspect inside of your computer for problems that cause shorting.

I have an

I5 7400
Gtx1660TI ( sparked and smoked )
16 GB ram ( 2 stick of 8gb and 1 died )
Superflower legion Gx Pro 650 gold PSU
H110m-D motherboard

I was playing Cs2 then my pc suddenly turned off for no reason. The PSU seems fine cuz i checked it with a PSU tester and its within range.

The Pc is fine now and running fine but i dont get why did my GPU suddenly sparked and smoked like that when it was the 1 stick of RAM that died and not the motherboard.

From what you just said maybe it was the GPU who is shorting out the MOBO causing it to turn on for a sec and turns off when i had it plugged in with the 6 pins or. Its the PCIE slot?

Because when i had my GPU plugged in with its connections it starts for a sec and turns off immediately after. But, when i didnt have the 6 pin connector on the GPU it suddenly went ka boom and smoked when it wasnt suppose too because the PSU wasnt connected to the GPU and wasnt able to protect it?

modular psu. did you use the cable from Superflower ?
Yes i did and i think it was protecting the GPU from sparking when the 6 pin connector is connected, so thats why the PC is powering up for a second then turning off.

I dont really get it. But, could my MOBO be bad or soemthing cuz it seems to be fine and i haven't encountered any problems yet.

Hello, is my GPU still fine because i opened the gpu and checked properly if there was any burnt marks but i didnt see anything on the gpu.

My GPU is a Gtx1660ti OC gigabyte

( I was troubleshooting my PC because it wasnt turning on due to one of the ram being dead)

You probably cannot tell unless there is a visible damage to the GPU, such as burn marks or capacitors having the top boiled over etc.

However, all ATX power supplies are required to have short circuit protection, so there are a fair chance your PSU have survived.

Only way to tell is to test it against 12V equipment you aren't afraid to cook, you can jump-start it if you need to test it on something other than a motherboard.

Thank you for replying.

My PSU still works along with my whole PC and havent encountered any problems yet.

( Superflower LegionX pro 650 gold i think)

Ill try to look for stuff that you mentioned because i only tried to see if there was burn marks on my gpu Or ill just probably give up and save up for a new one

Go search youtube and watch how video cards are repaired. Although interesting to watch what you will likely conclude is you can not fix the card yourself and it is not a valuable enough video card to pay someone to fix.

They actually use a microscope to examine boards. Burned parts are even hard to find like this. Then when you find them you need all kinds of fancy tools to replace the parts.....that is assuming the parts are common. The places repairing boards normally have a large stock of boards that can not be fixed that they take spare parts off.
