Hi, I'd like to update my GPU drivers on my EVGA GTX 960 to the latest drivers due to half my games not working anymore. However, when I try to do this, the GPU stops sending signal to the monitor as soon as the PC wakes up after the initial restart. The only way I can get it to function normally again is to revert back to the drivers that came with the GPU on the disc. Can anyone tell me what's wrong?

thanks in advance,
Robert

Are you sure? There was no reboot loop. Just a series of blank screens and the display coming back on. The PC didn't actually switch off (apart from when I made it turn off)

Turns out is a driver related issue. I booted the PC into safe mode and the issue didn't occur at all. (and I left the PC on for quite a bit) Then I uninstalled the drivers using DDU (while still in safe mode) and rebooted the PC back into normal mode. It worked fine. Thoughts?

ok, going back over all the posts

the driver issue has been experienced with the GTX 960 and a 750ti

if the 750ti was a model that required a PSU connection (not all of them do), then that would suggest the PSU is ok

tbh, it's sounding like there's something is your OS that is conflicting with the drivers are causing issues with them

All the hopping in and out of safe mode is making me think something in your OS is the problem

I'm at the point now where I think a fresh OS install is the next logical step

Sorry, a 750ti works fine with up to date drivers but only when it's sending signal through a VGA cable. To work with HDMI it needs an adapter. Not sure about DVI though.
